I like making cool ethnic/jungle style beats with the cs2x and my computer&modules and it works lovely! It took me some time to learn this board, but I like it better than my other ones.Even my Juno!I love working with my stuff to find the sound I like, rather than upgrading and the Cs2x has everything I need.5 out of 5!

I think that its hard to get the perfect sound out of any one machine. After owning the cs2x for a year I tried connecting it to my digitech rp12 guitar processor. It sounded not great but since I don't have much equipment anyways I kept trying. I thought no way but one day (after months trying) I found just the right program+param on the cs2x+just the right setting on the rp12 (-adjusted the rp12 eq: freq, gain and q point, noise gate). The sounds are just unbelievable. And the presets which weren't so hot I had to say what the??! Holy smoking keyboard! I program my sounds now to be processed in antoher module. Front 242 used the korg wavestations A/D inputs and made sounds unheard of. I think the cs2x is a great, great keyboard, but it takes time to figure out how it fits with your other gear. If not then your really missing out on the possibilities. I'm really glad I didn't decide to sell either ugh what a horrible thing to contmplate. CS2x and CS1x are my only 2 keyboards :> I don't mind -G

This is for all the Dumb-ass, pseudo, quick-buy Synth users that try to clown the Mammoth CS2x.What the Fuck is wrong with you losers?Dont clown it just because your IMPACIENT!This is awesome!I couldnt have made a better buy,and no im not talking about for the $700 price tag.First off I studied its features and tested out its sounds, considered its pros and cons,THEN bought it!It was all I was looking for.A powerful versitile sounding synth with sound editing features, a MIDI arpeggiator,Great effects, and good control.I got it with the RM1x so I didnt need a sequencer. Now let me say somethin real quick! Is it me or am I the only mutha fucka that knows how to use/sequence more than 1 Performance sound?Dumbass!Do you study your shit? It all depends on how many performances you use, and what midi channels you assign them on.If you already sequenced a perfomance, then move on to channel 5!.You should know that each performance occupies 4 channels, also try layering! It all depends on how many of them you use.You can use like,3 performances and 4xg voices.Just make sure you assign channels 1,5,9 then 13-16.Its a good control synth W/other tone modules with its filters and shit.Plus the arpeggiator!By the way it does have some crazy analog!I love the waves too!

Oh, and just to add, later on when you expand your studio setup, you might not use it as much as when you first got it, but you will ALWAYS turn back to this synth for 1 or 2 voices for a song that make that track sound thick and enjoyable. It is worth it for beginer and advanced home studios. GO check out some crazy ass shit made with this synth at I say this guys review for this synth on harmony central and he gave it almost strait 10s. I then listend to his tracks and was blown away. Trust me, this synth is great for the electronic musician who is serious about music. PEACE

You'd be hard-pressed to find more for your money. This is a great machine IF you are willing to take the time and effort to learn how to program it. Get the Tune 'Em Up editor from Yamaha, puts every parameter available from the keyboard (and several that aren't) up on your computer screen. Yes, most of the presets are cheesy, but there are some very good ones as well, and the modifications you can make in real time make even the bad ones pretty interesting...
