i bought this synthesizer because travis morrison of the dismemberment plan uses it. i have no manual and no other midi equipment which is probably why the only cool sounds i can get out of it are the weird fm patches i stumble across. all in all, it's a pretty tight synth, assuming you can keep people from spilling beer all over it and nuking the inside. (r.i.p. my first pss-480) i'm saving up for a moog, but this'll do for now...

I got this synth for free off a friend, it's cool, it's real simple to edit the sounds, the drums are cool (particularly the snare) I also have a DX-100 and frankly, as an FM synth, I prefer the pss because it's so much easier to use.
it's a bit noisy though, the the volume tends to drop out a but near the bass end. would be wicked with an external filter.

This thing is great! Just add a drum machine and effects and there's your whole setup. It was impossible to do anything cool until I saw the manual, though. $50.00!

I picked this baby up at a great second hand shop in Chicago called "Land of The Lost". Anyways, for 45 "George Washingtons" (dollars), this thing blew my mind! Its pretty much a toy, but there are some good sounds lurking in there. Not to mention its a good controller and can even sequence. I really dig this little guy
