This is a nice synth. It actually can emulate the ARP kind of basses! This thing also proves the underrated power of FM!

Not much experience with different types and brands of synths, but for an 80's model, the YS200 is great. I've heard that it is currently listed at around 500-600 bucks used, but i wouldn't reccomend paying quite that much. I payed 350 including a nice case, but I got it from a lady who didn't know anything about it, and needed to get rid of it. Overall, I'm satisfied. It includes 100 preset voices that have great sound, and you can modify them in unlimited ways and save up to 100 voices of your own, and then another 100 on each RAM card. It also has 5 premade songs to demonstrate it's capability, and the user can save up to 8 songs on the synth, and more on RAM cards. It's full size, with the usual pitch bender and modulation wheels which are capable of numerous options. There are jacks for headphones, a breath counter, and a sustain pedal, and two jacks for normal line out (left=mono, left&right=stereo). It also has in, out, and through midi ports. The sequencer allows many options such as normal recording, step recording (note by note, graphically), and punch recording (graphical recording used to fix mistakes), and can record up to 8 tracks per song. I have, however, run into sometimes frequent glitches, which seem to erase options that are changed, forcing me to redo all changes, but nothing major. Overall, a good synth.
