The Darkness played the last date on their UK comeback tour at the Hammersmith Apollo last week, and were joined on stage by none other than Brian May.
The Queen guitarist performed three songs with the British rock-band, including hits from Queen and The Darkness. Video footage for the performances of 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love', 'Bareback', and 'Tie Your Mother Down' is available here.
The Darkness frontman, Justin Hawkins, altered the vocals in one of the songs to pay homage to Mr May. During the second verse for "I Believe In A Thing Called Love', he sang:
"I wanna kiss you every minute, every hour, every day // You put me in a spin but everything is Brian May."
The guitarists shared the spoils of the limelight, with Brian, Justin and Dan all trading off solos in the show's finale song.
After the show, Hawkins tweeted:
"Brian May joined us onstage for 3 songs. A dream came true for us tonight :) x x x"
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Brian May, I think he's the best thing since sliced bread, but I definitely found that this solo in particular was somewhat lacking...
