The Boss HC-2 hand clapper is a really cheap way to get a clap in your setup. It has a trigger in as well as a striking pad. There are three knobs: Sensitivity, controls the velocity response to the pad and the trigger input; Dry, "controls tone color". It tunes the clap; Hall, controls how much reverb you hear.

I prefer claps and snaps to straight-away snares, so I bought this thing to use as a clap with my favorite drum machine, the TR-606 which, sadly, has no clap. But it has trigger out, and the HC-2 has trigger in. Voila! It saved the day.

I'm sure acoustic drummers could use this too.

It's a simple unit. If you need claps, it's there.

Comments About the Sounds:
A great clap! Very bright, clean, and crispy.
