Whoops! Just a note to the review below...that was meant to read "HEAPS smoother and tighter than Probes" NOT AS1's. I'm not too sure about AS1's filters. Just wanted to correct that to keep the truth...

I've checked out a lot of the other softsynth programs (including Retro AS1, VAZ 1.5, Probe) and haven't been that impressed with any of them. Remember to compare them to the REAL DEAL when using them - if it don't cut the mustard then forget about it. The funniest thing is that I just wanted something for bass lines for dance music and NONE of the other programs generated an acceptible punchy tight bass of commercial quality. The CLOSEST thing to Moog-essence and Juno-land was unbelievable SubSynth! It's filters crap over the others as far as quality and realism and the 24 dB/Octave variant is HEAPS smoother and tighter than AS1's. I REALLY hope that the people behind SubSynth make SubSynth 2 and include features like PCM (wave) sample patching, more oscillators, a graphical user interface that looks like an JP-8000 (like AXS does, cool stuff). Come on people, improve on it because it has the potential to lead the way in softsynths. ***** (Five stars)
