The Arp quadra is an undisputed masterpiece-This sounds like no other analogue you may have experienced; on paper the spec is limited but when you combine the strings, poly synth, bass synth and lead synth with its in built phasor and then utilise the seperate outs using y cables you can make sounds that are very unique and lush sounding. They are very rare now because they are prone to breakdowns and you have to love them and keep them working.get to love your engineer he will save you :-). A beautiful synth that I have owned for about 4 years and I fell in love with this synth straight away. Forget about getting the omni search out a quadra. 5 out of 5.

This has to be one of the most underated synths on the planet, why? Because it is amazing it really is such a fantastic sounding synth that I cannot put into words how fabulous it is,it is so soulfull and organic sounding. I belieive it is a rehash of a number of ARp synths that was thrown together to make some cash for ARP when they were going down the pan. When you play the sounds on their own you may think what is all the fuss about, however, when you bed it in a mix of music it just comes to life and sounds amazing. The leads are superb and sound like jameraqui and the strings are pure 70's disco add the phasor and you have garynuman esq computer strings swirling around. The poly synth despite being very limited is superb and sounds very organic and is perfect for elctronic soul music.Think roy ayres and your there. You definitely have to add effects such as reverb and delays but then all modern synth have these effects to twist the sound up. I WOULD NEVER SELL THIS SYNTH EVER,I have loads of old synths but I would never sell this it is just tooooo soulful and amazing,it is definitely more than the some of its parts. Someone offered me 3000 pounds for it and I did not sell because it is rare and just cannot be replaced. I would love to shake the hand of the man who invented this I believe it was either david friend or phillip dodds from arp either way I think they are genius.

Just got one for the studio. Got rid of an omni and solus to buy it. I'm sending a string ensemble on its way as well. This is a serious keyboard. Tons of analogue sounds and possibilities. Was there ever a better looking synth? The sliders are stiff. Any ideas on how to free them up? For phaser effects there is none better. Lovely strings and strong leads. I love the arpeggiator. It has touch sensitivity as well. It's taken me over 5 years to get a fully working example and I'm totally satisfied with what I've bought. A proper classic.

This is a fantastic synth. It failed in the 80s because it didn't offer things like proper patch storage which really mattered then but not so much now.

It does some things so well. The strings are miles better than most, if not all, of its contemporaries, including the prophet and jp8.

The bass section is mental. The phaser is so classic. The classic Arp leads are all there. It probably is a museum piece. If you want THE classic Arp then this must be it. The 2600 does a lot more, but then the Quadra does a lot of things the 2600 can't do. It offers much more useable sounds. Oh yes, it has after touch...which actually works. And, a simple but effective arpeggiator.

Had one of these beasts years ago and regretted getting rid of it.Fantastic strings that make you cry as they can be very sorrowful, basic bass synth sounds good but limited, polysynth which is organish in sounds but has nice filter, and 2 vco lead synth which will give you those classic arp lead sounds.Wish i still had one of these,I have tried to find one for sale but they are very, very rare now and i guess must command a high price. 5 out of 5 pure class.
