NL3 is without doubt the best and most fun to play synth out there,grab yourself a real bargain and buy one of these beasts on e-bay,easy worth 2-3 times what they cost now,no other synth compares.Had a Prophet 08 new for 3 days and sent it back,could not compare to the NL3,superb.

hi i use a roland fantom g8 but im downsizing to a nord lead possibly lead3 BUT I JUST CANT DECIDE BETWEEN 1,2, OR 3 !!!!! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW THEY VARY !or best sound !!!! (seeing as i cant try em out ) i love synth pop eighties style electronic house, indie synth pop ,,.. im thinking though, by my research that nl3 is not analogue-ish as 1 or2??

My Radias is in the shop for a pot repair (tweaked the cuto-off way to much on filter 1). So, had some quality time again with my Nordlead3 and have fallen in love all over again. The sonic possibilities of the 3 are amazing and it sounds so sweet !!!! The arpegiator which has been implemented since 1.2 is just awesome since you can make some cool sequences with it. But the sound, the sound !!!! For a synth which lacks effects it still continues to amaze me. The sonic sculpting options are endless and as all Nord synths it has been build with the utmost care and attention for detail and materials. Of all the equipment I have owned over the last 30 years this is without a doubt my number 1. A real modern classic. If you find one - grab it !!!!

Hello ...i have a roland v-synth v.2//jd-800/novation supernova2//virusB,but my favorite synth is the NL3....i have one too!!!! Its so simple... so clean... underfull sound... AWESOME machine....NL3 rules 4 ever!!!!

I recently purchased a second-hand Nord Lead 3, and I'm so impressed by the easiness of the programming and by the amazing sonic capabilities! To be honest the presets are not that fabulous, but as soon as you start tweaking the knobs you can get very rewarding results.
Comparing the Nord Lead 3 with the other VA synth I own (Access Virus C) I find the Nord Lead sounds sharper and better defined, with some sort of "surgical" approach. Moreover the sound programming of the Nord Lead is definitely easier for achieving what you have in mind.
Initially I was a bit skeptical for the lacking of internal effects, but after playing for few hours I found out the sounds are simply amazing with no need of further effects or artifacts.
All in all a great VA synth with its own - GREAT - character. Strongly recommended to anyone into synth-pop, ambient, industrial, techno and trip-hop music styles.
