Hi everybody ! Polivoks is the best mono(duo)synth ever ever ever build. I owe 2 of them. The old one is from year 1985 and is a bit unstable (needs to warm up a bit). The second one is from 1987, is very stable, and sounds more moogish than the other one I have. Very beautiful sound indeed. I love the earthquakes sounds it produces. You turn the pots and it's a sensible delicate sound of a chinese flute. It can sounds like a TB in the Bass sounds. I played with Korg MS20, ARP Odyssey, SCI Pro One and a Micromoog. None of them is so expressive and versatile like the Polivoks. I don't think there are 100000 polivoks around the world. 10000 maybe. At the time monosynths were produced in 4000 or 5000 exemplaries in western countries.

Thank you Mister Kuzmin (and Olympiada too) for this beautiful gift that you offered to the world ;-)

First: 100.000 is not so much on all civilized world. Second: Synthesizers long time were tormented at simple schools and houses of culture before have found the place in hands of electronic musicians. Many devices are in bad condition. We with my friend completely have restored ours Polivox, have established midi. For our music is an irreplaceable tool. Sounding of the majority american and european analog synth has strongly bothered. And Polivox gives out rigid, uncompromising, dirty, on what not a similar sound.

The resonance from hell. There is no other synth that has this extremely agressive resonance. This was possibly used as a sound-torture machine by the secret police KGB, confess confess you kapitalist pig...... Otherwise also very brutal sound with big chunky knobs. People say it is rare but reports claim that more than 100.000 were made!? Are all these scattered around in the former USSR?, I have no idea.
