I got a proformance + on sale recently, and it is pretty nice. The piano samples are good, though I don't know how they compare to the origonal one, because i think this one was released several years later.
The + has a nice b3 sort of sound, and some cheezy vibes, and other keyboard sounds.
The piano really isn't too bad, although I have found I need to add a lot of reverb to really get a natural pedaled sound out of it... my old detuned upright still sounds better, but I guess thats an aquired taste. -Avery (http://www.mp3.com/obeliskdevice)

Not a bad piano sound, but not the best either. I have a Proformance Plus so it has extra sounds besides piano, but they're not worth much. I have a Kurzweil K1000, which has a great piano sound, but I didn't want to keep using that Kurzweil sound over and over again so I picked up the Proformance Plus module. Plus, the Kurzweil piano sound is so easily recognized as a Kurzweil and not a real piano (at least by us keyboard players). However, I can't really get a convincing piano from the E-mu by itself. I find that if I mix the two piano sounds together (Kurzweil and Proformance module) I can get a sound that works well much of the time. If you can pick it up cheap, and don't have any worthwhile piano sound with what you got (God forbid you're using an M1 for your piano sounds) then it would be worth buying. And yes, it is very easy to use.
