pretty cool machine, but you may wish to seriously look at the Planet Earth module by EMU. It will blow the plastic off this Proteus 3 in many ways. Does way way more and is only like $100 more cost. Planet Earth is the way to go if you want the ethnic touch in your music, but Proteus 3 will do a nice job in the meantime.

Great rompler for unusual sounds. Simple to use.

Fantastic ETHNIC stuff in this baby!! I love the eastern Indian drums (tablas) and wild sounds you can hardly find anywhere. Very nice to have one of these if your into the Ethnic sounding flavor in your music. There are some cheezy type sounds too, but hey thats only to be expected. The good stuff far outweighs the cheeze in this box!!! For sure, I will never let this one go!!!

All of the bell and gong type sounds are great. Great tabla and droning sympathetic strings from a sitar as well. However, I have no idea why a banjo and a crappy sounding trumpet were included (the trumpet is available with the Proteus I), and the bagpipes sound horrible. There are sounds on this unit that are only available by extensive sampling.
