I used to own an E1 way back when, they're really not worth the time unless you're a collector, or want something ol skool looking and like lo-hi dirt

Mine is an 8 voice. serial 0208. It heavy indistructable, but the 22 year tank work's. Paid 150 pounds for it. You can still get the software for it, but that's it. The huge heatsink with the word EMULATOR say's power in 1981 standards.

Hi Folks. I was lucky enough to buy an emulator 1 in 1991 and also got all the software available for it (thanx to ed dickie of emu systems who sent it to me...) did you know that there only exist 250 pieces of this great machine worldwide??? and guess what... i got the one with serial no. 001B !!!!!!! 8 voices but i guess its quite out of order... i did manage to run it but there seem to be some damages on the mainboard... anyway, this machine is the basis of all sample-based music. without it, the musical world wouldn´t look like it looks today... great sound great feeling great vibes... feel da funk baby!!

The EMULATOR I is awesome for anyone looking for a sampler that has real time controls for it's functions and not a bunch of ridiculous program windows . It only has 128 kilobytes of memory , 2 seconds of sampling time , mine has the JL COOPER MIDI interface . They made them in a 2 , 4 , or 8 voice system . Mine is an 8 voice , extremely well built and weighs 80 lbs . It's very easy to use and reliable considering it's age . I love this beast , it's great for getting a MELLOTRON like sound without having to actually have a junky MELLOTRON .
