For the money ($20US) this card provides an excellent introduction to digital audio recording. For making demos on computer, the recording sound quality kicks butt on any tape multi-tracker. Sure you can buy one of the "professional" cards, but if you don't have $500 bucks to blow and you want to record NOW then go for the AudioPCI. Heck we're talking about 20 bucks here... Oh yeah the GM sounds suck, but who uses GM anymore?

Its great for audio recording so dont complain. If you want real midi sounds get a sampler dont really on soundcards.

The synth on this card isnt very good but it works, even if it uses cpu time, but if it´s really cheap digital audio you need, this might be a good card. for you There are new drivers available from creative(who makes a clone of the card called soundblaster PCI64) which makes the card suppoort four-channel 3d sound (the line in can work as a scond line out) which isn´t good for making music, but nice for playing games.
