I bought my EQ76 in 2000 (feb). I feel really screwed by General Music as there is no good working OS and Support. No updates. And de board doesn't promise what the brochure tells you. (at least about the sampling part) If i could sell it to another i really would do it. I paid a lot (1800 EURO/1850 US) for this synth and expected a lot. But it wasn't my money worth.

The EQ is a great machine. I have it since 12'99 and find even today more and more possibilities. It never turned me down - and I did play many gigs with it. It's sounding great, has some glitches in the OS, but - what the heck! I can get away with this. It is built like a tank and IMHO all plastic Yahakorolakais this age suck in appearance and usability compared to this amazing soundtank.

I use my 76 note Equinox, for my band. Your write, thats not cool that there is no help support line, but the manuel is a lot better than Alesis, and Yamaha. And it's not cool no one at any music store can help you because they don't understand it. But, there is hope, I have completely figured it out. So, it is possible and it trully is an awsome synth workstation. With all that I know, I wouldn't think of using anything else. And, no I don't work for anyone that sells Equinox. I love everything from the sequencer, sliders, groove machine, sampler, and the over all way it is like a computer, you can upgrade and everything.

I've bought the GEM Equinox last week and I could say that this machine is awesome especially for synth sounds. The "drawbar mode" is really usefull and great, it can reproduce some really Hammond Organ sounds.I'm an italian musician and I have to be honest with who think this machine is not good, 'cause it's a really good choice. I've paid it 550 euros and I'm really happy Equinox is my new entry of my set-up. 5/5 !!!

The EQUINOX sounds great, but using it with a PC sequencer seems to be impossible. I don't recommend it for anything other than live playing. The manual is not useful.
