I've had my SunSyn for about 4 months. I also own, a Virus TI, Moog Voyager, Poly Evolver, A6, Xbase 999 and a bunch of digital and analog effects.
This is luxury item synth, collectors item, etc. Most people buy Hondas, Toyotas or Chevy's, some buy Austin Martin. Same goes with synths. This is like the later of the two choices.
Though it's no more expensive than let's say Studio Electronics Omega series, Moog, A6, etc. It has it's own sound, so it's hard for people to get their head around it. It has a very unique filter system and original sound, kind of like how the Poly Evolver has it's own sound or the TB 303 has it's own sound or Moog, you get the drift. It's a SunSyn sound.
Among other things, I sample some of percussion sounds and create really interesting drum kits to play through my MPC.
Also run external sound sources through the synth, you can actually modulate a external sound source.
I created new patches from the presets and I must admit that the sounds are just fing out of this world fantastic. It's so fat, so powerful, so raw. You can taste it. And programming is so fast, you dial up a brand new sound in minutes... Only thing faster is the Moog, at least my corner of heaven.
A lot of people say it has really RAW sound. It does, it's got a real analogue timbre about all it's sounds. Not noisy, just raw electric power and original sound.
Some Q & A.
