punchy and stands out in a mix as well as anything else (if not better).
i've got the rack and it is SOLID. total MIDI control over many parameters including pitch.
better sounding than the Novation and those tinsey sounding VST plugins. less pricey than the Roland TR-808 and 909.
five marks bitch!

killer 808/909/78 it's not roland clone. true analogue drum machine.

The fact, that the jomox can alter every parameter on every note of every instrument it has makes it the worlds most powerfull tool for making walking basses! Period!
If there are some retro-freaks left, who cant make the Xbase sound better or at least as good as the 909/808 in all matters, then it´s not the jomox´ fault!
For the first time ever, we have been given all the features of the most advanced computer sequencing ever in real-time direct-handeling beautifull sounding and looking piece of equipment. Now it is possible to develop that 4-2-the-floor shit into new ways of grooving. There are no limits: Nothing beats the power of every-step-editing. NOTHING! 7,2 out of 5 to the Xbase09

I don't know what all this talk about the comparison between this machine and the tr909 is? I own a roland tr909/tr808 and tr606 and although i use them in some recordings i have to say the xbase 09 goes much further and the midi implementation is awesome,if you want a tr909 go save your money and buy one but don't compare it with this machine which in my opinion is far better and intergrates into modern music much easier. live in the past or trial a new path into the future,i know which machine i will be taking with me its name doesn't start with TR.

x-base brings much joy. i love him long time. his samples are good thru ya fx box. tha snare is punchy as a prune an souns great thru ya filta box (frostwave) and da bass drum will shift ya innards. add to that mind-warbling lfos and it gets interesting hmm. but what about the sequencer? no need to stop him when writing beats, plenty-o-patterns, great xox style 16 step, all functions are 2 button presses away. only gripe is my xbase sends irregular din (sync24) pulses when hes used as master clock. but if u sync him to external midi clock problems disapear. you might need another drum computer to compliment him but mr. x-base will always be in charge in my setup.
