Don't let any of the nay-sayers stop you from cosidering the purchase of this synth. Yes, most all of the presets are lame...and yes, this synth doesn't do "everything" well, but it is a great synth. Once you crack the manual, it's smooth sailing...pretty much. Has some midi timing glitches that Korg is supposedly trying to fix. Upgrade to OS.5 if you haven't yet. You can do this by going to the Friends of MS2000 or the MS2000 intranets link. You can find these links at this site. Great lead sounds and bass sounds, but really excells at making very strange and weird noises. If you like to program your own sounds and fiddle knobs...this is your synth. I don't regret buying it for a second! Such a bargain, I got my MS2000 keyboard for $735 US new!! There are deals to be had look for them. :)

I agree with the previous poster. I just sold my MS2000 but I really want it back because I miss the bass so much. I don't know how anyone can even consider an Electribe A when the rack version of the MS2000 costs only about 2times that and blows it out of the water. A modern classic and i see it popping up on more and more gearlists of professionals. Snoop dog uses one!

A lot of people slag the MS2000's bass and some praise it. Honestly, i think it's wonderful. I think i want to get a second MS2000 for live use because i want to play a few different patches at once. If you want to check out some MS2000 bass, check out the songs "Launch 2001", "Apocalpyse (remix)", and "Down" (the bass comes in about 1:30 in on Down) at http://www.mp3.com/xhiphop

It'll give you a good sense of what the ms2000 is capable of.
