I bought my wife a PC88 8 years ago. It lasted approx 2 years and crashed. I had it repaired and it lasted about 6 months. Right now, it's standing on end in a closet. I'm afraid to spend the money to have it repaired again, in fear of it crashing again. Have improvements been made that can fix it for good??? I love the sound, but am dissappointed with the reliability.

I've owned my PC88mx for about 13 years. Used it consistently in all styles of venues. Phenomenal Keyboard!!!! Well last Friday at the end of the gig I was taking the keyboard off the stand it slipped out of my hands. The end result was I broke middle C and B key. Everything seems to be working fine even the keys that are broken. I am having a hard time getting replacement keys. I am having a hard time with Kurzweil support. Any suggestions

I've been looking for a keyboard tech for some time now, the problem with my PC88 is that it does not stay on the sound that you put it on jumps lets say for strings to organ I don't know what the problem is why is it jumping. I love my pc88 and just need to have it repaired. Thanks in advance for the information.

Dean Schneider a professional user from Margate, NJ United States writes:
I've had my PC88 MX for 12 years and absolutely LOVE it. It is a Lexus among keyboards! The action, especially now, is still wonderful and the piano sounds cannot be beat. I do agree that Kurzweil, or Young Chang is tough to communicate with. I think having a competent technician available is the key here, literally. My PC88 is played constantly, and broken key weights and other issues happen periodically. If there was a keyboard that had better action, sounds, and performance, I'd have bought it already. Some of the comments I've read are silly, a reflection on our instant-gratification society (yes, there's an internal battery that need to be changed, just like on your car or your TV remote control). Sure, it's a heavy keyboard, but it's 88 keys and the weighted action accounts for some of this. Have an extra power supply handy. Better support overall from Young Chang would be a plus. As far as I'm concerned, the PC88 MX (from '95-on, with flex resistance) is an amazing value and is extremely suitable for all musical applications. Your comments on the above are welcomed. Peace.
