This is a great synth! Looks great, sounds even better; especially through a space echo.. . . I bought it non working for about £100 and so far it has been pretty good after a big service. You can get just about any style bass ranging from punchy 80's electro to natural warm bass sounds to anything you want. Simple to use but you can generate some complex harmonics using the sync. The LFO is amazing. So expressive and goes into hyper speed!! You can get it so fast, it sounds like a ring modulator! I love this synth. Fat sounds. A bit fragile so dont smoke over it!!

Hey, I've used the source professionally for years, most of my clients prefer it over the mini in sessions . It seems to reach those perfect places that a mini can't. It's perfect in the mix, it's not too PHAT "minimoog". I used it in the eighties, nineties and i used it on a soundtrack last week! This synth delivers. I've used it for electrrofunk, new wave, techno, experimental, you name it - it's appeared on countless records and continues to. The prices are sky high now! I just bought a mint source for $1,200.00!

Anyone disparaging the sounds either can't program or is caught up with Mini hype. In a mix it's more similar than different, with a big, warm Moog sound, patch memory and easy to midi..reminds me of the Moog version of a Pro-One; excellent.

I finally got my Source today so now I can participate in this little gripe fest. I paid 500.00 and it's in great condition, the membrane switches all work and it sounds slammin. O.K. so it's not a Minimoog so what, everybodys hung up on the Minimoog. I got sick of battling with these so called collectors on Ebay and went for the Source. First of all it's more stable than the Mini,it has oscillator sync, sequencer, arpegiator, and the patented Moog filter. The Mini might have a bigger sound but the Source is no slouch either. A lot of people say it's not good for bass. What the hell are yall smokin, I've gotten some deep fat Taurus/Mini type basses out of this thing. Maybe you dumbasses ought to learn how to program. I love this thing and until I can get a Minimoog I will count on the Source for all my Moog sounds. It's totally underrated, cool looking, and no you can't borrow it so keep your mits off!!!
