One of the best soundmodules ever. Massive, proffesional sound. I have a lot of gear in my studio but this (and the Roland JX-10) is what I use the most. I have it packed with expansioncards and it can do almost anything. I think a lot of user think of this as a sample player(they use the presets and thats it), but it is an incredible powerful synthengine inside it. When you master it you can do anything eith it.

I should have got one of these long before I actually did! For some time I just used the one that was in the studio, along with the JV1080 (which is essentially the same), but it wasn't until about 2 years ago that I actually went out and purchased my own one! The sounds are massive, and this really is one of the Roland Corporation's high points. It's very good!

I got my 2080 about six months ago and i love it. The analog sounds are pretty good, whit some tweaking you could get some mean and wonderful sounds. The effecs are alright ive heard better but they are ok. I will hang on to my 2080 it is a great synth.

Thia is a great unit. Maxing this baby out with SR-JV80 cards is what it's all about! Just reaching under 3000 patches fully loaded!! This is THE synth if you need all the the meat and potatoes for any genre music production. It compliments software based romplers and other external modules like nonother, and it's category search is great.

I prefer it to the 3080 and 5080, and it's a nice looking rack peice.

When i bought Roland JV-2080 synthesizer module in spring of 2002. It was change my life totally, after that day i was done music with old Korg synthesizer module. Those sounds was very old 128 GM style basic midi samples. I really get bored on those sounds in 6 years. But after Roland synthesizer module gave me a hole new tool to make music. It also made me as a very creative, now on i have done over 40 songs for a year 2003. Before i got Roland synthesizer i couldn't do anything music because the sounds was so bored. But roland got a power of sounds in synthesizers.
