Bought as a cheap drum trigger for £11. Works triggering sounds from an old SU10 sampler but was a bit awkward to set up. Onboard sounds are what you'd expect:80s-tastic - mmm! Similarly, in appearance it has a nice retro chic. The pads aren't very sensitive though but at this price that's acceptable. Get it cheap

I bought my DD-5 for 12 dollars. All alone, it sounds like a plastic toy but pushed through my guitar amp, it sounds great. I let the kids play with it and it still works flawlessly. Ok, it's a very basic item but it's fun to be able to add some sounds (hand clapping, bongo, conga etc) while gigging. You can hand it over to anyone in the bar that has good timing and doesn't go overboard with the thing. For the sound quality, the price, simplicity and usefulness....I give it a 5.

great cheap MIDI drum trigger. you wont find a better one for less. it does the job. the internal sounds suck, but then again that's not why you are buying it , right? :)

The dd6 is a better bet, sound wise and build. Pay very little for the 5. Never worth a 4.5 avwerage.

I put a review on the DD-5 on this page already. HERE'S AN UPDATE!!! I now use it as a MIDI drum trigger for my YAMAHA RX-120 and my KORG MR-16. Honestly, the 120 sounds alot better then the DD5.
