I have to agree that this beauty is seriouly underatted in the pecking order of alltime classic drum machines. It is easily the equal of the likes of a Roland 909 or Oberheim DMX. And can do so much more. The early 90s was a golden period for yamaha as far as I am concerned. They gave us the incredibe SY99, the greatest synth of alltime in my opinion. And they gave us the RY30, the ultimate DRUM/MACHINE. At current second hand prices, this is the greatest bargain in the musical instrument world. GET ONE!!!!

This machine has brought new life into my sound programming, this machine is the only source I need for bass sounds, if you want 303 sounding bass-lines that fits your taste in detroit then you have to reach for one of these.. Don't even get me started on the sound editing side!.. this thing can create such complex sounding drums, bass & lead type synth sounds.. never get bored, four individual outs, great for effecting bass or drum sounds indepently, I picked my up from e-bay for £70, worth every fucking penny. go out and search for one today. 1 millon out of 5..
