The MPC 2500 doesn't have MTC sync with its current OS 1.00b. It uses MIDI clock. Most software multitrack recording programs have both MTC and MIDI clock sync. You will not have any problems overdubbing using MIDI clock sync. I use Steinberg's Nuendo 3 with the 2500. This is a flawless set-up.

Lots of great features outweighed by a lack of MTC or SMPTE Sync facilities. The MPC2500 uses Midi Clock for sync pruposes, this is unacceptable. I returned mine and am sticking with the MPC2000xl.

Picked up the MPC 2500 last week and I can't find much to complain about. It definitely is an improvement from the MPC 2000, with a broader feature set and intuitive interface.

There is a great combination of live performance features and programming options to satisfy most. Direct and thru recording will be very useful and chop shop & patched phrase could save a bit of time in the editing arena.

I've experienced no bugs yet. The effects, looping and Q-Link controls are spot on and the memory is sufficient (longer phrases go into the recording unit).

The only thing I'd prefer is USB master instead of slave to connect a fob to, but I'm sure there are workarounds.

Andy, the MPC2500 will not send or receive MTC. It uses MIDI Clock for sync, and that's it! Get your protocols straight!

Midi Clock is useless for overdubbing when slaving a DAW to the MPC.

Get a clue Numark!
