Encore Electronics has recently released the KNOBBY ($199) programmable MIDI controller. It has 15 banks of 8 knobs and each one can be assigned to any MIDI channel and programmed to be a sysex message, standard controller, NRPN, or RPN message. It has high resolution controls and is perfect for editing rack effects, sound modules, keyboard, software synths, etc. It has a full rubber base which prevents it from sliding off your work surface while in use. It also provides a Scene/Panic button for added utility. It comes with a user friendly Windows application for setting up the unit and can be used with or without the application. The application supports tons of popular and not so popular synths, and more definitions are being added daily. These can be conveniently downloaded from the website. Also, a Mac application is coming soon! The KNOBBY is available immediately.
