PPG UK reunion details announced

Olympia? Earl's Court? No, a pub in Wales... 20-Oct-00

Dates and location for the official PPG-UK Ltd. Reunion have been announced by organiser Andy Thomas.

The event will take place from 24-25th November 2000 at The Hen & Chickens, Flannel Street (we're not making this up), Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, South Wales, United Kingdom.

'This gathering is a celebration of the resurgence of interest in the Wave 2.2/2.3 synthesizers, both having achieved both vintage and classic status,' says Thomas. 'It's intended to reunite the developers, designers, marketing & sales people with the people who gave it a voice and prominence during the 1980s. The first Wave 2.3 and Waveterm system to arrive in the UK went into sessions including Frankie Goes To Hollywood's first album featuring samples including that famous 1984 hit Two Tribes' bassline."

He's planning a 'serious social encounter', with a live performance area will feature contributions from other manufacturers' demonstrations (Moog-Music, E-mu, Steinberg, Native Instruments, Soundcraft Spirit, Sonorus, SEK'D, Swissonic, Waldorf Wave 2.v plug-in, Kenton Electronics, DSound - list to be confirmed).

'Abergavenny is a market town on the England/Wales border providing a breathtaking backdrop instead of the city grime, so come and relax here in the hills,' chirps Thomas. 'The town provides reasonable Bed & Breakfast and hotel facilities.' (Reasonable prices or reasonable egg and bacon, we ask...)

Registration (25 GBP) is essential to secure your place on either or both days as places are limited. Light refreshments and buffets will be provided - however the pub venue can provide more substantial meals. Included in your registration fee will be a PR pack and list of useful contacts. Get in touch before 1st November and, Frankie fans, you'll have to take your own eyeliner...
