Press Release
At this year's Musikmesse in Frankfurt, the Wizoo crew, lead by creative mind Peter Gorges, present exciting news in no less than four areas: books, sample libraries, VST instruments, and wizoosounds.com - a brand new service for sampler users. "Virtual Guitarist" is a new type of VST instrument that finally allows everyone to add professional-sounding rhythm guitar tracks to their songs - quickly and easily. Two separate VST instruments are provided (one for acoustic guitar, and one for electric) featuring an expandable number of 27 players, first-class sound quality, and complete musical flexibility for controlling key, tempo, phrasing, and voicing. Virtual Guitarist will be distributed by Steinberg for 249 EUR (SRP), and works with any VST-compatible host application. "MixTended" is a new CD-ROM for EXS-24, HALion, LM-4, and Battery users, offering five extensive and professional drum kits presented in three mixable flavours: dry kit (dry sounds routed to individual outs), overheads, and room. MixTended combines playable drum sounds with natural room ambience and total mixing flexibility, and costs just 99.95 EUR. Wizoo's famous CD-ROM title "Latin Percussion" is finally available in 24-bit quality for HALion, EXS-24 and GigaStudio, priced at 99.95 EUR (SRP). With "Urban Atmospheres", Wizoo enters the world of surround libraries for high-end studio applications. Containing six DVDs, "Urban Atmospheres" features 5.1 environments from various locations, including subways, airports, railway stations, department stores, restaurants, casinos, museums, and theatres. Produced using the award winning SPL Atmos system, this library sets new standards in usability and surround sound quality. Urban Atmospheres will be available in Nuendo and ProTools/AIFF formats for 990 EUR (SRP) by the end of April. The Nuendo edition will be distributed through Steinberg. Wizoo's highly regarded library of music technology books has also been expanding and, in co-operation with Music Sales, Wizoo presents seven titles from the new "Quick Starts" series. Each title is a 50-page weekend 'crash course', and current topic's include Propellerhead's Reason, Home Recording, MIDI, and Cubase VST. The "Quick Starts" are available now for just 19.95 USD each, and every title includes an exclusive CD-ROM providing resources to accompany the book. Last but not least, Wizoo are proud to present Wizoosounds.com - the service every sampler user has been waiting for. Finally, musicians can select and download single instruments for their sampler from anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day, using a simple and secure credit card payment. The clearly structured online library offers only professional-quality instruments, and users on a slower Internet connection can have their order shipped on individually manufactured CD-ROMs.
