SNAMM03: Edirol USB 2.0 Audio Shown Working

US New 10 in 10 out interface hot to trot - to the shops      27/07/03

Edirol were showing a fully operational UA-1000. The worlds first USB 2.0 interface. USB 2.0 is a much faster version of USB 1.0 and even beats Firewire in the bandwidth stakes. Thing is, we've been promised all this new power but so far no interfaces. Edirol are going to be first to market with their impressively specced (and blue) UA-1000 interface. Featuring, four dual mic/line inputs with preamps, ADAT connections and S/PDIF, you should be able to handle most connections. The UA-1000 will operate quite happily at 96kHz / 24-bit to keep up with advances in audio resolution. It looks like Edirol will definitely be the first to the shops with this USB 2.0 device and judging by the quality of their drivers for their other range of USB 1.0 devices you'd expect this to be quite a popular product. UA-1000 should be available in early August.
