At last years MESSE, we caught up with 70s/80s keyboard legend, Geoff Downes on the Creamware stand playing the Noah. He was using a mini replica Minimoog to control the software version running on Creamwares DSP platform.
Back then we heard that this was a one-off, but the recent releases by Arturia and the forthcoming Gmedia (one to watch) obviously encouraged its maker, Rolf Meurer to consider making more. My German isn't up to much, but from what I can glean from his website, Ralph was in some way involved in the BeOS, the OS that never quite made it to mainstream acceptance, although it was ideally suited to realtime applications such as audio, MIDI and video.
The Midimax keyboard is an exact replication of the Minimoog front panel but made as a MIDI controller (sort of like the Korg MS20 controller that comes with the Legacy Collection).
The scaled down Midimax controller comes in three models:
Keyboard - the replica of the minimoog with 25 mini keys, mod and pitch wheels, MIDI in/out/through, USB MIDI, octave +/- controls.
Desktop (no keyboard or USB) and the Midimax rack.
The Midimax is available through the Midisoft website, again I'm guessing, but it looks like they are made to order.
