It seems unthinkable I know, but your cute little iPod and iTunes setup could be open to hackers. A security bug in iTunes 4.x code means that media files, if craftily written can open up the system to all sorts of unpleasantness through the injection of hostile code. Itunes users are being advised to update to version 4.8, which fixes the potential problem and introduces more validation of media files. It’s not just Mac OS X users either, according to Danish security specialists Secunia the bug is highly critical and can leave Windows iTuners vulnerable too. Get yer upgrade:
