Anyone who reads New Scientist magazine might be aware of Barry Fox and his unerring trawl through the worldâ€™s patent applications in his quest to make the latest bizarre ideas and inventions public knowledge. The latest discovery in his â€˜Inventionâ€™ column is that you may soon be able to play â€˜guitarâ€™ on your phone.
Motorola is apparently patenting a cellphone that displays the layout of a guitar neck on its screen. The guitar can be â€˜pluckedâ€™ or â€˜strummedâ€™ by using the keypad with the resultant guitar sounds being played through the phoneâ€™s speaker or sent across the ether to another phone user.
