The previous version is very noisy, the in-built fan being suspect, unless they have seriously upgraded that I would not recommend them for audio enviroments!

the fan is really noisy, but it's easily fixed by opening up the enclosure and pressing the wires away from the fan. i was about to return mine due to the horrible noise, but called tech support and found out that it's the wires vibrating against the fan that causes the noise. i have the v2 and would like to get the v3, but $120 for an eclosure seems very pricey!!
