Steinberg has announced that WaveLab Essential 6, the latest addition to Steinberg’s WaveLab product family is shipping now to Steinberg resellers worldwide. WaveLab Essential 6 combines a comprehensive set of audio editing, mastering and CD burning features with an integrated new podcasting module.

WaveLab Essential 6 includes a versatile set of audio editing and mastering features tailored to musicians, small-scale production environments, audio enthusiasts and podcast authors. The powerful CD Montage recording and editing facilities offer pristine recording and sample-accurate editing in a professional 96kHz/32-bit environment. Steinberg say that the comprehensive range of audio FX plug-ins opens up countless creative possibilities, while the integrated Red Book-compatible CD burning engine produces production-ready audio and data CDs. They tell us that the integrated video track also allows easy creation of professional audio montages and soundtracks for home videos.
The new podcasting components add a complete internet publishing toolset, providing all necessary functionality to publish audio on the web, including audio upload, site handling and much more. Integrated into the audio editing environment, the podcast module in WaveLab Essential 6 includes a full FTP client, support for the RSS 2.0 standard as well as easy- to-use templates that guide newcomers in easy steps into the world of online audio publishing.
