Logic Pro 8 may now be with us but users of older versions might be interested to know that ASK Video Interactive Media has released 12 new utility/creative modules based on the objects in Logic's Environment. These new Environment Modules automate common tasks to streamline workflow and highlight creative features to help inspire Logic users.
Created for ASKVideo by guitarist, composer, and music educator Tony Wallace, the modules have been carefully designed so Logic users of all levels will be able to install and operate them easily. Advanced users can dissect the modules to learn more about how Environment objects work and interact. A detailed PDF user's guide provides complete directions and sample settings for each module and helpful tutorials on MIDI and the Environment.
Tony Wallace told us, "I created these modules to handle some of the common MIDI processing tasks I needed to perform in my own studio, as well as to demonstrate some of the creative potential available in the Logic Environment. They range from simple MIDI utilities, like the Multi Converter and Velocity Fix & Scale, to fun tools that you can use to develop new musical ideas, like Buzz Roll and the Step Sequencer."
Utility type modules can be used to solve everyday problems and include Data Splitter, Channel Mapper, Swap & Merge, CC Mapper, Note to CC Converter, Multi Converter, and Velocity Fix & Scale. Creative type modules are great for generating new ideas and include Pitch & Mod Stick X/Y Crossfader, Pattern Delay, Step Sequencer, Buzz Roll.
