Reason 4.0 - it's much anticipated and it's officially released on monday. We however have managed to snaffle this short preview video. M-Audio in conjunction with DV247.com sent T.J. down to see us and to give a taste of what to expect from this upgrade. More From: PROPELLERHEADS

simply as a little hint, have a look at the folders above the 11 patches within the thor patches-mainfolder. seem to be several hundred patches including artists signature ones ;)

Is it just me or does Thor seem as lacklustre and lifeless as Reasons previous synths. You now have 140 new improved ways to make the same old dull sound.

he just repeats everything what the interviewer says...

"RPG8 is a monophonic arpeggiator"..."yeah RPG8 is a monphonic arpeggiator" .

Tut! haha!

I cannot stand the reason synth engine... Why make really cool ways to warp a sound that sounds terrible? reason is like an MPC... It only sounds as good as your samples

It's like a whole rack of synths!

Grumpy, it's not just you... Reason is about ten years behind the rest of the music world... Who have happily adopted VSTs and all the CHOICE and power they offer. Reason is for newbies who know sod all about music creation on a computer, and think it 'looks nice'. You can buy way better VSTs and a host for the same price as Reason 46, or whatever pathetic version it's on by the time you read this... But the magazines will keep giving it wonderful reviews, as they need to keep selling their readers new rubbish that they don't need...

Thats why reason has a famous user base right VSTsarewaybetter??

VSTsarewaybetter    Said...

Not a "famous user base"! Say it ain't so!

Can you point all us unelightened ones in the direction of some Thor patches that sound BETTER than umpteen free VSTs? I've searched all over the internet and all I can find are Thor demos that are the same as scores of already existing FREE VSTs...

Oh, and could the owner of this site possibly make the text even lighter so it's completely invisible? Try #FFFFFE, not quite white, but near enough for you 'designers'...

Mr. VSTsarewaybetter still barking I see.... if people only knew about your agenda... Anyway this guy is so busy with his desperate crusade against Reason, which being a little more complex than the average VST, makes him so frustrated that he's going wild across the internet sounding like someone barely resembling a musician. Far from it. Maybe he needs to focus on what he can do best and work on it at least he can speak from a point of power rather than from inferiority and immaturity. There are other things in life you know...

I laugh when people say reason 4.0 is for newbies when I have used FL Studio, Logic, Ableton Live etc, they are all the Fucken same shit, no sound differences, its all computer based, all about how a persons creativity opens up is all about the way a song is produced.. Any software synth/sound will sound dull to the person who has dull creativity...
