AESNYC07: The Hardest Hitting Drum Library Ever?

Cakewalk announces Martin Atkins' Beat Fetish 12-Oct-07

Cakewalk have announced Martin Atkins' Beat Fetish Volume 1 which they are describing as the hardest hitting drum library ever released. Beat Fetish provides the actual drums and grooves that were programmed, designed, and recorded during recording sessions spanning over 25 years with some of the biggest names in Industrial and Post Punk music using some of world's most highly-regarded engineers.

Produced by Martin Atkins, Beat Fetish Volume 1 captures an exciting essence of sound design which is often out of reach of inspired musicians and producers, say Cakewalk. They tell us it is the first in a series of extensive sound libraries that combine the fidelity of the world's top studios with the coolest in gritty ear prickling sounds. Beat Fetish is the culmination of over 25 years of recording and includes some of the best material, cherry picked from sessions with Pigface, The Damage Manual, Killing Joke, and other artists. Recording engineers for this material include Atkins himself, along with Steve Albini, Flood, Mark Walk, Keith "Fluffy" Auerbach and others.

Highlights

  • Nearly 3 GB of royalty-free drum content
  • Includes drum sessions, stem mixes, loops, grooves, and hits
  • ACID® WAV, Apple Loops, and REX formats
  • 9 drum kits compatible with Dimension Pro, Battery, Reason, Live Logic, and other popular instruments and hosts
  • Includes stories behind the content from sessions with Pigface, The Damage Manual, Killing Joke, Nine Inch Nails and many others.

About Martin Atkins
Drummer, producer, label owner, and entrepreneur, Martin Atkins is one of the central figures in the evolution of post-punk and industrial music. Highly regarded for his drumming, beat programming, sound design, and production skills, Martin was a member of Public Image Ltd and Killing Joke, the founder of Pigface, Murder Inc, and The Damage Manual; and a contributor with Ministry and Nine Inch Nails (including drums on the Grammy-winning Wish).
Atkins has been teaching at Columbia College in Chicago for the past four years and is currently instructing the course The Business of Touring. He is also an active guest lecturer, speaking at such institutions as the University of Southern California and the MIDI School in Beijing, China. Atkins has written Tour:Smart, which he calls the "first real book on touring" and features contributions from Henry Rollins, Cynthia Plastercaster, The Enigma, the Suicide Girls, Zim Zum (formerly of Marilyn Manson), Kevin Lyman, and various other managers, journalists, agents, sponsors, radio personalities, and venues.
