Here’s what Digitech have to say about their Vocalist series and the AKG D5:
DigiTech's Vocalist products are the company's flagship line of vocal harmony processors. Employing DigiTech's proprietary musIQ technology, each product is able to accurately create multi-part vocal harmony over a single vocal line by analyzing a musical accompaniment signal in real time. All three products work with any electric or amplified acoustic guitar. Additionally, the Vocalist Live Pro also accepts MIDI, so keyboard players can get musically intelligent harmonies just by playing in a natural accompaniment style. There is no tedious programming or knowledge of complicated music theory needed. Simply play any guitar or electronic keyboard, and Vocalist Products will figure out which great sounding harmony to create. The user can choose harmony shifts in a two-octave range, including unisons, to create two-part (Vocalist Live 2) or four-part (Vocalist Live Pro and Vocalist Live 4) harmony. It's that simple. The Vocalist Live Pro is a 1U rack mounted unit, and the Vocalist Live 2 and Vocalist Live 4 are foot pedal units, with two and four dedicated pedals respectively.
The AKG D5 dynamic vocal microphone for lead and backing vocals delivers a powerful sound even on the noisiest stage. Its supercardioid polar pattern ensures maximum gain before feedback. The D5 stands for a crisp sound that cuts through every mix. Detailed specifications can be found online at
