super natural special tone section?. wow roland went all out this year.

Wow. I think I am actually going to get that to replace my ax1.

I love the design, though I imagine that the curved back will make it harder to place this one if you're temporarily going to play it like a normal keyboard. Still, that would be a bit of a shame for such a synth anyway! :-)

Absolutely amazing! Congratulations ROLAND! It will be my main axe, proudly.
16-Jan-09 11:29 AM
Me want :-)

finally roland do a proper keytar with a great sound engine...8 batteries is a bit nasty, but maybe JUST MAYBE ( ahem) roland could themselves do a chunky rechargable battery pack as an optional extra (hint hint) ?

Gotta love the porn movie soundtrack lead sound at the beginning and at the end.
Another demonstration up to the Roland cheese standard. Not the musician fault, probably brainwashed by the marketing dept rep
Supernatural ? What about up to date sounding presets and sound quality.

Best product of show! ... Despite the fact that he used it to play a guitar patch. The Bender button is a neat idea. I hope that one can change the controls sent by the Aftertouch knob and the Mod bar like on the AX-1. I'd like to swap them. Also hope that it sends MIDI over USB.

"lets do the shakuhachu here.." xD

Juno-G: workstation - small sized keys (like in a toy). AX-Synt: "guitar"rompler toy - normal sized keys. I don't understand Roland, sorry. What's up guys? Give normal keys to workstation (also budget's one) and to "guitar" toys small sized keys (for plays comfort).
17-Jan-09 07:26 AM
Juno-G has normal sized keys...
18-Jan-09 03:21 PM
Well, being a keyboardplayer for years and being a fan of Chick Coreas work...among others...I just can´t stand strap-on keys. And white..? It´s hard enough to look cool as a player...and now this...
LOL...
Sorry, guys...

looks absolutely fantastic! i bet Jan hammer has already placed his order for one.
19-Jan-09 03:55 PM
Ummmmm I Hope they bring back just the normal AX-1 with it... No offense Roland, I want a keytar (for under $1K) but those sounds he demoed sounded like crap.

Synastikki, Juno-G does indeed have smaller keys than other full-size keyboards. Juno-G key size is actually odd - its somewhere between a Full Size and a Mini-size (famous portable yamaha keyboard of the 80's/early 90's).

I was hoping for something more macho, like the black AX-1 with updated software. Yeah, I'm sure Jan Hammer will get this one ;)
And with that slanted end, how do you stand it up against a wall?
05-Feb-09 08:35 AM
The cello sounds terrible. He could have showed us some more sounds, I can´t stand these annoying lead sounds that look like a bad guitar sounds...
Anyway, God save the VST´s
Lol

wow, this ax-synth reminds me something like Rick Wakeman and Jordan Rudess. sounds like shred... But i prefer if have more colors like the traditional RED, or black, to choose what you like.
14-Feb-09 04:38 PM
balkan tones ? sax, trumpet , clarinet , acordeon ?
19-Feb-09 07:24 AM
Yes this would look way better in black, and cooler. I reversed the colors in photoshop, turned it black with white letters and it looked awesome that way. I will still get it in white if I have to but would much prefer it in black. All the lights on it would stand out more and look better on stage.

Uhh, no, that would be Glam Rock, followed by nose & lip piercings as a close second.

Word to the wise: Always use a stand-up style guitar stand for keytars, never lean it against a wall or anything without secured support. The first time it falls or gets knocked over, you'll really regret your lazy choice, big time. I learned the lesson the hard way.

This thing is one of the best i have ever seen and is a must have for anyone absolutely revolutionary
16-Mar-09 07:36 PM
The idea is good yes and I'm probably going to get one anyway but the sounds he showed us were lacking in pretty much every department :/
