Sonic Sidekick release a VST drum synthesizer for Windows 08/05/09
Sonic Sidekick have released Extreme DrumSynth, a VST drum synthesizer for Windows. Here's what they have to say about it...
What Extreme DrumSynth can do:
Emulate acoustic drums and cymbals.
Recreate many of the sounds of classic drum machines.
Create custom sound effects.
How to synthesize drum sounds
To build a sound:
Start by Layering and modulating up to 14 basic oscillators to create anything from a simple harmonic spectrum to a complex inharmonic spectrum.
Shape the sound as it passes through a custom resonant band-pass filter.
Mix in noise filtered through the same type of flexible band-pass filter to round out the sound.
Add movement by adding lfos and seperate envelopes to almost any combination of parameters.
Assign velocity and cc responses to any combination of parameters so that the sound responds well to your playing.
Finally, you can adjust the overall level, attack, release, and compressor settings to taste.
The end result:
a synthesized drum sound that is flexible, dynamic, sounds interesting, and responds well to your playing. Pricing and Availability:
Extreme DrumSynth is available through June 1st at an introductory price of $35 (a saving of $25).
