Electronic percussionists will probably be getting a little excited about the news coming through of the new Korg Wavedrum. Originally released back in 1993/4 some say it was the pinnacle of electronic percussion with incredibly expressivity for the time.

The price made it a difficult sell at the time and the Wavedrum was discontinued. It's still highly prized and  and can fetch several thousand dollars for one in good, working condition.

Its clear from this video however, that it's back, and looking like it's going to be more expressive than ever. We understand that a lot of research and development has gone into the the Wavedrum WD-X, but for now we're going to have to wait for more details to arrive.
