Monome.org has announced a new version of its influential monome sixty four controller - the monome grayscale sixty-four.

introducing our next edition, grayscale. bright white lighting. black silicone over a strong steel enclosure. same adaptable minimalist functionality as the original sixty four.
we’ve been prototyping for over a year and are very happy with the weight, durability and aesthetic of this updated design. the white LEDs are bright even at low power which has allowed us to design a bus-powered, tilt-enabled one twenty eight. the new enclosure is inspiring many new ideas.
grayscale sixty four will be available in january, through this website. $500. we are not taking pre-orders presently.
