The software is a good companion for the ZED-10 and ZED-10FX models, which feature two innovative ultra high impedance discrete Class A FET (Field Effect Transistor) inputs, allowing an instrument to be plugged directly into the mixer, emulating the valve/tube input circuitry commonly found on instrument combos or amplifiers.
"The modelling capability of X-Gear, and the guitar and bass specific Class A FET pre-amps on the ZED-10 and ZED-10FX, make for an incredible combination," comments ZED designer, Mike Griffin. "Together they provide the home studio guitarist, solo artist or band with the complete package to produce great quality guitar performances."
Allen & Heath's smallest format mixers to date, the ZED-10 and ZED-10FX are ultra compact mixers built to a professional standard, with capacity for up to 4 microphones and 2 stereo sources, separate 2-track record outputs, a stereo playback input, 3-Band EQ, 2 aux sends for monitors and FX, separate stereo bus, as well as comprehensive monitoring and DI level switching. Additionally, the ZED-10FX has a built-in FX processor with TAP tempo delay settings and a 24 bit/48kHz conversion rate, using a bank of digital effects algorithms derived from Allen & Heath's pro touring digital mixing system.

Very nice. Now can you send someone over to report on the Allen & Heath R24 recording console prototype. That would be more interesting.
