Justin Bieber 800% Slower = Acceptable

Beautiful timestretch of U Smile 17-Aug-10
Justin Bieber 800% Slower = Acceptable
800% - See what I did there?

 J. BIEBZ - U SMILE 800% SLOWER by Shamantis

Haunting, beautiful and ambient are not words one would usually use to describe Justin Beiber's work as a rule -, but this is actually all of the above - presumably not how Def Jam executives would have wished the original recording to be delivered. But this version of U Smile makes the humourless little twerp sound quite acceptable.

Not sure what Shamantis, AKA Nick Pittsinger used to stretch it down by 800%, but it sure does sound good.

IT's is amazing!!

Did I just say that about a Justin Bieber song or did I just get hit by a flying water bottle?

It might be PaulStretch. After listening to this I was inspired to run a few commercial pop songs through it, it was quite soothing.

who-da-thunk JB would sound good on mushrooms......... Careful Nick , dont let the bleen age girls catch you callin' him a twerp. They keek yo ass man..... lol Its odd how we musicians who sweat it out for decades cant get a break but some kid from youtube gets it all in a blink of an eye, then gets the likes of top rap artists taking him under their wing. Who ever said life wasnt fair knew of they they spoke of. oh well..... que sera , sera

Perhaps your right about the twerp comment, after all he's just a kid whos taking whats coming at him.

I dont begrudge his success by any means - pop is a fickle and mercurial thing and does require considerable hard work from all involved.

Its just that the times I've heard him interviewed or questioned, he just sounds so uninterested, as if its all a bit too much effort for him. But maybe I've been catching him at a bad time....

i dont think he had time to be groomed for 'tv' he used to play on the streets of STRATFORD ONTARIO.. where the Shakespear festivals are held in Canada. I saw a clip of him...... on 100 HUNTLEY STREET.... a Canadian religious show... his mom was a member of the church he got tv exposure since 13.... but i have to say for a kid who's mom just put his youtube vids up for his friends, then next thing he's on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE...... id say thats better than a kick in the arse anyday huh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLzY1BAmohM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_UeGzzzoMU&feature=related

heres a couple clips if you can stand it... but shows a bit of background on him. Know what could be very eerie on timestretch...... pink floyd song.... SEVER SMALL SPEICIES OF SMALL FURRY ANIMALS GATHERED TOGETHER IN A CAVE AND GROOVING WITH A PICT ............hmmmm.........

I think I must be the only person living under a rock that has never heard any of this kid's music. The slowdown was hauntingly beautiful but then I made the mistake of clicking on the link to play the original. Ouch.

I've also never heard this guy's music, and, thankfully, now I don't feel like I have to. I wonder what we'd get if Music for Airports were sped up by 800%.

I don't know what the hell a justin beiber is, but it sure seems to have good control of its pitch. Slow anyone elses voice down to that degree and you would get a Randy Jackson "Too pitchy for me Dawg." Weird and spooky haunting.

I just wanted to point out that Nasca Octavia Paul also developed an incredible, free multitimbral synth, ZynAddSubFX. It is also available for download...
