A couple of firsts for the Avid empire at PLASA, the first being the single unified AVID stand for this show, all brands - Digidesign, M-Audio, Sibelius, Torq now under the purple and black of the master AVID brand. The other is the introduction of M-Audio's full range GSR PA speakers.
These self powered monitors, kind of going up against the ever popular Mackie SRM 450, take it to the max, or rather the min with an incredibly light form factor using a combination of moulded plastic boxes and Class D amps, making them extremely luggable.
Available in 10 (250watt GSR10), 12 (300watt GSR12) and an 18" sub unit (500watt GSR18), these are designed to give you a full range system, with switchable DSP curves to suit standalone, for use with a sub or as a monitor.
Full details to be announced.
Also, theres a free downloadable AVID Live Sound Survival Guide which of course highlites the miriad of AVID products you can use for live work, but also gives you a whole bunch of generally useful information to get you started in live sound and live recording.
