Get Your Music Mixed At Abbey Road

Abbey Road Studios have launched an Online Mixing service, which offers the opportunity to have your music mixed at the world's most famous recording studio, by Abbey Road engineers.

A spokesman for Abbey Road told Sonic State, "The service offers a more accessible alternative to working personally at Abbey Road Studios, while still providing the opportunity to tap into their unrivalled range of equipment and skilled engineers. Musicians and producers can simply upload their music to the dedicated online mixing website, and they will take care of the rest."

We know that studios are having a tough time of it and need to find new ways to generate income but is this the way to go for such a revered studio. What do you think?

Pricing and Availability:
1 to 24 multi-tracks from £550
25 to 48 multi-tracks from £750
Extra charges apply for songs over 6 mins

I don't know, there's something very impersonal about this. They only accept 48 tracks, which means that one should bounce ahead of the mix if the track count is higher. The choice of engineer depends on who's available at the time. Communication is done via email only. This might sound snobbish, but it feels like a place such as Abbey Road shouldn't be heading in that direction.

@sunrobot............they say that hookers don't like to kiss

it seems a rather low price to sell out for..................i hear Abbey Road checks pay phones and vending machines for change..............

they should do a bake sale, or maybe hold a casino night, with all proceeds going to "charity"

As mentioned in this weeks Sonic TALK - would be good perhaps to add a short period of video face time with the engineer to help communications
