Long respected for the quality of their studio microphones, DPA have also been making a name for themselves for performance mics, and their headworn systems have found many admirers in theatres around the world.

At the Namm show, DPA introduce new variants of their d:fine headset systems - we asked Jarrod Renaud to give us a quick demo; he was wearing a couple of their microphones for this video.

They sound good, as you can hear, but what interested me was the fact that it's a modular system - you can swap out cables, connectors; even the booms themselves, and update a one ear to a double ear system for those performers who really get jiggy with it.

And apart from the regular colours, they come in acid lime green too. Cool stuff.
