Gaz takes a look at Shredder and its guitar-to-MIDI plus synthesis capabilites, as well as the Fingerlab DM-1 drum machine.

Working for bush!! Good old friendly Apple. The boss was prepared to work for bush.

Also maybe how usb audio/midi interfaces work with the camera connection kit... my tascam us-800 i know is a better solution than that alesis dock for sure

I was surprised to see that you didn't review ThumbJam's ability to convert pitch to MIDI on guitar. The last show got us very excited about ThumbJam and seems to do a better job in the conversion than Shredder. We've been experimenting more with ThumbJam doing the pitch->MIDI conversion than Shredder.

This continues to be a good show, though. Thanks for your work!

the guitar app seemed terrible. one to avoid if you ask me. you stated that new apps weren't coming out at the moment. any chance we could have some top recommended apps? there are so many out there it would be good to get some trustworthy recommendations.

Now you need to kill the output from Shredder so theres no clean sound, then split that output to an amp or sim in Logic. I need one of those guitar interfaces but I'm confused. You seem to recommend the Sonnos but you used the other one?

I just saw today that FingerLabs announced an update for DM1 with Midi In, WIST, Audiocopy/paste, 24 new kits, etc. Found the video on Synthtopia and it looks cool.

I would add that I had same problem on HTC Wildfire phone. It looks very much like an Android/Windoze problem. Yes I know. Apple is best for musicians but out of my price range.

re TouchDAW. Best on tablet - Archos 101. Needs rtcMIDI for WindowsXP. MIDI note data is fine but refused point blank to connect the control channel which is when it would be most useful. Fiddled around for hours. Very disappointed.

Great show & highly informative as always chaps! Thank you! I was wondering how Shredder would track vocals as it seemed quite ok once controlling Animoog... perhaps that is not its forte.

Anyway - really enjoyed the show! Thank you!

quick feedback (already suggest before): please add chapter marks for all episodes... youtube allows to do so easily.... just type the time example 10:10 and it generates automatically. it will make the show simple to navigate. just put them in description and voila!!!
