One of the big pieces of news from MESSE was not actually at the show. The night before it all kicked off, Propellerheads had a press event at a rather stylish hotel in the centre of Frankfurt, where they unveiled Figure - the iOS application with Reason synth engines, and the new Reason Rack Extension  plug-in format. This is opened up to devleopers and they say its as easy it can be to port over existing plugs and instruments (though it helps if they have a rack-like GUI).

To test this theory, we caught up with Magnus Lidstrom from SonicCharge (they make the excellent Synplant instrument) who converted his BitSpeak plug-in to the new format in time for the demo.

Reason Rack Extensions are coming in Reason 6.5  (Summer we think).
