QuickTime (MP4) | iOS MP4
One of the big pieces of news from MESSE was not actually at the show. The night before it all kicked off, Propellerheads had a press event at a rather stylish hotel in the centre of Frankfurt, where they unveiled Figure - the iOS application with Reason synth engines, and the new Reason Rack Extension plug-in format. This is opened up to devleopers and they say its as easy it can be to port over existing plugs and instruments (though it helps if they have a rack-like GUI).
To test this theory, we caught up with Magnus Lidstrom from SonicCharge (they make the excellent Synplant instrument) who converted his BitSpeak plug-in to the new format in time for the demo.
Reason Rack Extensions are coming in Reason 6.5 (Summer we think).
Fantastic nick many thanks for the video.thers a whole new sense of a brand new dawning over on the propeller heads user forum.Hope you can do some more interviews with other rack extensions developers in the coming weeks or invite them on to your show.
