I'm from Mississippi and I've never heard of a Mississippi Drum Machine. What is that?

The only "Mississippi Drum Machine" I can think of is a porch board; a set up that consists of a board you stomp on to make a bass drum-type sound. It's used in a lot of swamp blues, etc. (John Lee Hooker did the same sort of thing in his early recordings). Maybe they're playing on that? I dunno! Just kind of ... odd? That said, it would be really cool to hook up a drum machine to a set of pedals to stomp out beats while playing. It's been done, I'm sure.
