Steinberg CMC Controllers Get Attractive New Prices

Controller system receives an immediate reduction in price by nearly 40 percent      02/08/12
Steinberg CMC Controllers Get Attractive New Prices

Steinberg has announced a sizeable price drop for its CMC controllers. Effective as of today, the suggested retail price for the CMC-CH, CMC-AI, CMC-QC, CMC-TP and CMC-PD is now 99.99 euros including 19% VAT and 119 euros including 19% VAT for the CMC-FD controller.
Steinberg tells us that, while the CMC series witnessed a remarkable success since last year's introduction, an increase in efficiency of production was achieved in this year's first two quarters, thus allowing the company to reduce the prices accordingly and pass this immediate benefit on to its valued customers. They say that the new suggested retail prices provide an even greater incentive to pick up on the system's modular approach.
Stefan Schreiber, product marketing manager for hardware, told Sonic State, "With this price drop users have the chance to set up a controller console that fits their needs in every aspect without ever worrying about the cost."

I agree these controllers should be about $60.00 each. Then I would consider purchasing some of them. I would also like to see a real motorized fader instead of those led strips. Presonus fader port is the best bet right now for the money.

I'd love to have been in the room when they were trying to work out a spin on why they put them at too high a price point in the first place without advertising the fact that as a result they weren't selling very well. 'Production got cheaper' indeed :)
