Gospel Musicians tells us that, capitalizing from Yamaha's vintage FDSP technology for the EX5 Synthesizer Workstations, Neo-Soul EX5 is an electric piano sample that has been run through Yamaha's FDSP EP Pickup technology and added to the scripting of Neo-Soul Keys. They say that the physical modeling of the EP pickup through FDSP ads an extra realism to the sample library and that, in addition, running the samples through the A/D filters of the EX5 adds a character and warmth to the electric piano.
Gospel Musicians says that the Neo-Soul EX5 contains all of the original effects as Neo-Soul Keys, except the sustain samples contains the new EX5 samples. This makes the expansion pack a hybrid EP.
